Dr. Gomez is a board certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist with over 15 years of experience as a Laboratory Medical Director. His experience includes hospital laboratories, outpatient clinical laboratories, and specialty laboratories. His leadership experience also includes serving on Hospital Boards and he was a member of the College of American Pathologists Board of Governors for 15 years. He brings more than 30 years of experience in Laboratory Accreditation.

Sharon Hook, DO
Medical Director-Tampa

Dr. Hook is a board-certified anatomic, clinical, and  cyto-pathologist with more than 25 years experience.  Currently serving as medical director for Regenerative Biologics Inc, Merakris Therapeutics LLC, Biowound Solutions and Simed Health and has worked in the tissue banking industry since 2009.

Dr. Kathryn McIver, MBA
Chief Administrative Officer

Dr. Kathryn McIver serves as Chief Administrative Officer of Donor Services Laboratory, having initially joined the organization as Chief Operations Officer to launch the company’s laboratory operations from inception. She brings over a decade of executive leadership experience across healthcare, technology, and consulting environments, with expertise in launching operations, scaling service delivery, and optimizing organizational performance.

Dr. McIver holds a Doctor of Business Administration with research focus on entrepreneurship from University of Maryland, an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Denver. She is also a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from Villanova University and serves as Industry Expert Faculty at University of Colorado Denver.

Andreina Jaimes, MBA
Chief Financial Officer

Andreina Jaimes serves as Chief Financial Officer of Donor Services Laboratory and also holds the CFO role at Origin Biologics, a biotechnology company with shared investors. She brings two decades of finance and accounting experience across international and U.S.-based companies in the manufacturing, life sciences, and service sectors. She began her career in audit at Deloitte and held finance roles at Sodexho Pass. She then moved into financial leadership at Coca-Cola FEMSA. Prior to her current roles, she served as CFO of a clinical research company in Houston before joining Origin Biologics and Donor Services Laboratory in financial leadership roles.

Andreina is a licensed CPA in Texas and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting from the Catholic University Andrés Bello and an MBA from Metropolitan University in Venezuela

Jennifer Sawkins
Vice President of Operations

Jennifer Sawkins is the Vice President of Operations, currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada. With 15 years of experience in regulated testing, specializing in Human Cells and Tissues, she brings a wealth of expertise and continuity to the organization. Passionate about serving the community, Jennifer is dedicated to ensuring that each donor gift is promptly and meticulously screened to honor the donation process.  Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys equestrian activities and skiing.

Said Ubaid, PharmD, MS in Clinical Pathology, MLS(ASCP), DLM(ASCP)
Director of Donor Testing Laboratory

Said Ubaid is a seasoned clinical laboratory professional with over 22 years of experience. He served as Laboratory Manager at Quest Diagnostics for 8 years, leading operations in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and transfusion medicine. Said holds multiple ASCP certifications, including MLS, MT, H, C, and the prestigious Diplomate in Laboratory Management. His leadership emphasizes regulatory excellence, quality improvement, and the efficient implementation of workflow.

Victor Brana
Director of Sterility

Víctor L. Braña brings over 30 years of experience in microbiology from a FDA/DEA/WHO/EMA-regulated bio/pharmaceutical industries (GSK, Bristol Myers Squibb, Eli Lilly, and Alcami Corporation, a contract testing and manufacturing organization). Víctor has expertise in aseptic process manufacturing, microbiology, microbial methods and process validation, environmental monitoring (cleanroom, utility systems), sterilization (Dry heat, Steam and VHP), aseptic gowning, isolator technology, and cleaning validation monitoring. Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of cGMP/cGLP, CFR, USP, EP, JP, and ISO regulations. As Director of Sterility and Product Testing at Donor Services Laboratory, Víctor is dedicated to delivering accurate, timely, and compliant testing services that prioritize patient safety and client trust.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Dr. David Cardamone
Laboratory Director
Dr. Cardamone has over 26 years of clinical laboratory experience. He has vast knowledge and expertise in chemistry, immunoassay’s, molecular, toxicology, and general lab operations. Dr. Cardamone helped manage the clinical trials of a DeNova test assay for Premarket Notification of 510K approval. He also spent 4 years as Army Infantry during the Desert Storm invasion. Dr. Cardamone received his Ph.D. in Health Sciences from The University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey and is certified through the American Society of Clinical Pathologist and American Board of Clinical Chemistry.
Michael Scott
Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs

Michael S. Scott brings over 30 years of leadership in FDA-regulated industries, with deep expertise in tissue banking, cellular therapies, and the testing and manufacture of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.  He has led quality and regulatory functions at globally recognized organizations including Abbott Laboratories, Charles River Laboratories, and Integra LifeSciences, earning a reputation for driving compliance and ensuring customer confidence.  As Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs at Donor Services Laboratory, Michael is dedicated to delivering accurate, timely, and compliant testing services that prioritize patient safety and client trust.  He holds degrees in biology and quality systems management and is also a 3,000-hour instrument-rated private pilot.

Bill Harden
Operations Manager

Bill Harden has over 30 years of clinical laboratory experience and operations. He has in-depth knowledge and expertise in the application and functionality of LIMS operating systems within the laboratory space. Bill spent ten years in the military at some of the largest and most visible controlled testing facilities in the world. He received his AS in Medical Laboratory Technology from Mount Aloysius College and an AA in Pre-Nursing from Wentworth Military Academy. Bill is certified as an MLT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

Ann Meszaros
Human Resources Manager

Ann Meszaros is a skilled HR Manager with extensive experience in startup environments, focusing on developing and improving HR processes, supporting team development, and fostering positive workplace cultures. She is known for being direct and practical and helps keep the team supported and focused in a fast-moving workplace. At Donor Services Laboratory, Ann partners closely with the team to align daily operations with long-term growth objectives.
